Women who regularly exercised before pregnancy can safely continue to do so during pregnancy by making small changes in their exercise patterns, depending on the trimester, with individual attention to different nuances. If a woman has not exercised before becoming pregnant, a low-intensity exercise program should be chosen.

Regular exercise during pregnancy can:
